CubicICE Negotiates Swooji Launch
In South Africa
December 2009
CubicICE has successfully
negotiated an exclusive agreement that will see Swooji
advertising services launched in South Africa before any
other country, as part of Swooji’s beta phase testing of its
online advertising platform. It is anticipated that Swooji
will be launched in the South African market on a limited
basis in the third quarter of 2010.
The decision to launch first in South Africa was a natural
one, as this country presents an ideal market for testing an
online service of this nature, before expanding globally.
CubicICE’s thorough understanding of the local market,
together with a suitable market size, audience reach and
accessibility of local online publishers, has allowed
it to successfully ensure that South Africa is the
first market to experience the benefits of Swooji.
Completely unique, Swooji is an online advertising platform
designed to add value to both online publishers and
advertisers. By partnering with Swooji, local publishers
will be able to add a new pay per click (PPC) advertising
model to their websites, with no impact on current
advertising or website real estate. Some of the key Swooji
benefits identified by CubicICE in the early stages of
negotiations included the PPC model, the simplicity with
which online publishers can incorporate this advertising
model, the prime exposure created for advertisers on
websites and the fact that online publishers will be in full
control of important factors, such as PPC pricing,
advertisers and revenue generation.
The targeting capabilities within Swooji allow for day of
week targeting and targeting of web visitors by country. It
is anticipated that as awareness of Swooji increases, online
publishers will find an advertising market for their
international traffic as well, thereby increasing revenue
potential. Furthermore, Swooji plans to roll out an online
advertiser platform that will allow advertisers to sign up
directly with Swooji and create campaigns targeting multiple
online advertisers, based on the pricing and advertising
conditions established by the online publishers.
“We are impressed with the anti-click fraud technology
incorporated into the Swooji platform and the fact that
advertising is based on visitor sessions, rather than page
impressions,” says CubicICE Director, Steve Liversedge.
Swooji makes it easy for website visitors to navigate
through publishers’ websites without losing contact with the
advertising displays. This unique feature allows the
advertisers to stay in visual contact with the web visitor,
even if the visitor clicks on multiple pages within a
publisher’s website.
“We believe publishers and web visitors will enjoy the added
functionality that Swooji brings to the web surfing
experience. Web visitors will have the ability to click back
and forth from one advert to the next and then back to a
publisher’s website with no page reloading required,”
explains Liversedge.
